Five members of the North Swim Team wrapped up their postseason in style at last weekend’s district meet at Cleveland State University, delivering standout performances and personal bests in their toughest competition of the year.
The boys’ relay team—Chris Pawlowski, Amir Mahraz, Caden Reyes, and Logan Reyes—turned in season-best times in both the 200 Medley and 200 Freestyle relays, improving on their district-qualifying marks from sectionals. Amir Mahraz posted his fastest 50 split of the season to help the team build on its impressive top-five sectional finish in the 200 Freestyle Relay.
Caden Reyes was a force in the water, setting a personal best in the 100 Backstroke after opening the meet with a scorching-fast 50 Backstroke split in the medley relay. Pawlowski followed up his own huge time drop at sectionals, improving his 100 Breaststroke time after first posting his fastest lead-off leg of the year in the 200 Free relay.
Logan Reyes set the tone early with a strong personal best 50 Breaststroke split in the medley relay, then delivered the boys’ top individual finish of the meet, dropping nearly 2 seconds to record a career best in the 100 Breaststroke, placing seventh in the district.
On the girls’ side, Berta Handl continued her dominant postseason run after earning automatic bids in the 50 Free and 100 Back at sectionals. She backed up her first place finishes with near-personal-best splits, securing a seventh place district finish in the 100 Backstroke to notch North’s first top 10 of the night.
In total, North swimmers recorded 10 personal bests at districts, closing out the 2025 season on a high note. The Rangers made their mark once again—strong, fast, and ready to build off their end of season success.
