Boys Varsity Track, Girls Varsity Track · May 3North’s track teams put in work at the 2025 Mayfield Invitational on Friday, finishing fifth in the girls’ competition and sixth in the boys’.Freshman Zoey Prosen and sophomore Amaya Majette both won an individual event.Prosen claimed the high jump title after clearing 5-0, and she also placed fourth in the 400-meter dash (1:04.17) and fourth in the long jump (14-10).Majette won the discus with a throw of 120-9, and she placed second in the shot put (34-2).Junior Rylee Smith also had a solid meet, placing second in the long jump (15-0), and fourth in the high jump (4-10).Junior Brayden Sandstrom led the boys’ team with a pair of second-place finishes.He ran a time of 11.14 in the 100-meter dash and 22.51 in the 200.Junior Alexavier Harris also finished among the top four with a fourth-place finish in the discus with a best throw of 130-feet, 2-inches.Full Results

Boys Varsity Baseball · Apr 29Gerardo Torres snapped out of a hitting slump with a walk-off single in a 9-8 win over rival South on Monday.With the score tied 8-8 and runners on second and third, Torres dropped a single into left field, giving the Rangers the rivalry win.“The walk-off was great,” said Torres, who finished 1-for-2 with a run scored and an RBI. “I’ve been in a little hitting slump, and that was very needed. I was also down in the count 0-2 and I called time, stepped out of the box, took a deep breath, and told myself over and over again in the box to see the ball and play catch with the bat and the outcome of it was great I can’t explain how great it was to beat South. Girls Varsity Softball · Apr 29North scratched across a pair of runs, and Bailey Licht pitched a game in the Rangers’ 2-0 win at Kenston on Monday.Licht allowed just two hits and struck out nine in the victory.“This was one of Bailey’s tougher games,” said North coach Matt McPeek. “Everything was working for her. She didn’t get into trouble and kept walks to a minimum. We had a clutch hit from Maddy (Ferrari), and then in the last couple of innings, we started having better at-bats, putting the bat on the ball, and putting some pressure on the defense, and that’s what we’ve been preaching all year.”The Rangers broke a scoreless tie with one run in the top of the third.Olivia Credico led off with a single, and Gianna Pintar was hit by a pitch with one out. They were inspired. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, May 17th, at Lost Nation Golf Course. Registration will begin at 2:00pm. If you haven’t signed up yet, there are still spots available! The deadline to register your team is Friday, May 2nd. We are also still accepting sponsors and donations for raffle prizes. You may have received a registration brochure from some of our players. This document provides additional details about the outing. If not, a PDF is attached to this email and there are more copies in the mailroom. Boys Varsity Track, Girls Varsity Track · Apr 18North’s boys’ and girls’ track teams finished as the runner-up at the 2025 Ranger Invitational at Nick Carter Stadium on Thursday.Junior Brayden Sandstrom led the way for the Rangers as he won three individual events and helped the 4×100-meter relay team finish second.“It felt amazing to be at home and me being able to walk away with three gold medals,” Sandstrom said.Sandstrom won the 100-meter dash in 11.03 seconds, a new personal record by .11 seconds, the 200 in 22.55, a new PR by .09 seconds, and the long jump with a best leap of 19 feet, 6 ½ inches.“My best event was the 200-meter dash,” he said. “I have good endurance and finish strong, and I PRd every time I ran it this year, and I’m only going to get better.”Sandstrom and the 4×100-meter relay team of Drake Martinez, E.J.
